People ask me about using new goop in old ovens, and vise versa. Most of the original Mattel ovens get too hot for the new Toymax goop, and tend to burn it. You can try it with the thinner molds, just watch it closely. The new ovens will cook either old or new molds just fine. It’s just a little tricky to get the old molds out of the new ovens, because the new plastic mold handle doesn’t grab the old molds. UPDATE: Ed sells an Adapter Tray at his Retro-Hobbies web site, that makes it easy to use the old Mattel molds in the new ovens. He also has many other Thingmaker replacement parts available too.

I have used most of the different Toymax ovens, and I like the Super Oven the best, because you can cook 2 molds at a time. But I still like the toaster oven the best, and that's what I use most of the time. I set it at about 325° - 350°, depending on the thickness of the mold, for about 3 to 4 minutes. It's great because I can open the door and poke it with a toothpick to see if it's tacky, then I know it's done. Also the fact that I can cook many molds at a time helps too. Also it's great for adding layers of colors. I wouldn't recommend the toaster oven method for kids though.

Jakks Pacific has a web site that has some information about their Creepy Crawlers line by Flying Colors. Maybe we’ll be able to order goop, etc. from them in the future? On their web site, there's a 'consumer relations' link where you can email them and tell them how much you like Creepy Crawlers.

If you're looking for refill sheets for the old Mattel Vac-U-Form, I have info on where to purchase new replacement sheets here.
